Well, in another display of a total waste of time, we attended the County Utility Line Extension Meeting on July 24, 2008. As expected, the line extension assessment was passed. The county showed no compassion whatsoever to anyone in opposition. It is passed! 5,502 lots will be assessed $1,499.54 each which gives the county just over another eight million dollars. When you add this to the millions of dollars we've paid in MSBU fees for years (by the way, is still under litigation) plus our annual property taxes, in our opinion, it hardly seems fair to the property owners. Does this sound fair to you? It seems like we financial support the county. Unfortunately, you must pay this assessment. This assessment is tied to your property and if not paid there could be a lien placed on your property. If you do not know if you are
responsible for the line extension fee call (352) 527-7650. Make sure to
